Elmayer Kränzchen

The Elmayer Kränzchen has been run by the Elmayer dance school since 1920 and closes the Viennese ball season on Shrove Tuesday. It is an unusually early ball: doors open in the late afternoon, and at midnight both the carnival and the ball end together. Several hundred couples of the young ladies' and gentlemen's committee dance the opening.
